MTN DEW® Code Red Brisket
You’ll be wanting “mountains” of MTN DEW® CODE RED® Brisket for days after this. And forget about a centerpiece on your tabletop - everyone's going to be looking at this game-changer dish.
INGREDIENTS
\Brisket
6 pounds brisket
2 cans MTN DEW® CODE RED®
Dry Rub
1 Tablespoon black pepper
1 Tablespoon smoked salt
3 Tablespoons smoked paprika powder
3 Tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon ground cloves
INSTRUCTIONS
- Clean the brisket, removing any silver skin and excess fat. Be sure to check the layer of fat in between the two muscles. It’s a thing. The technical word for it is “the deckle.”
- Cover the meat in dry rub, letting it rest for at least half an hour. Pro tip: It needs to look moist before you actually begin to cook it. (You’re learning so much!)
- Preheat the oven to 225°F. Place a rack on top of a baking tray, setting the brisket on top. Bake for about four hours, until it looks brown.
- Add MTN DEW CODE RED to the tray and cover with aluminum foil. Continue cooking for another four hours, until it’s nice and tender. (Trust us, it’s worth the wait.)
- Slice the meat and use the liquid in the tray as a finishing sauce.
